Earthworks Industries Inc. (“Company”) reports that its U.S. subsidiary Cortina Integrated Waste Management Inc. (CIWM), today filed its formal Appeal with the Interior Board of Indian Appeals.
The Appeal is in response to a Notice of Termination that CIWM received from the U.S. Bureau of Indian Affairs purporting to terminate CIWM’s lease of the Cortina lands which is the site of the Company’s Cortina project. Filing the Appeal automatically suspends the termination resulting in the Lease, until disposition of the appeal, remaining in effect and good standing.
CIWM intends to complete the current processing of its Site Specific Flexibility Requests (SSFR’s), which are federal clearances of the regulatory and technical requirements for the development of the Cortina project.
