Earthworks Industries Inc. (“Company”) wishes to report on the status of the development of its integrated waste handling project at the Cortina Rancheria in Colusa County, California. The project is being developed by the Company’s wholly owned U.S. subsidiary, Cortina Integrated Waste Management Inc.
The Company confirms that it has received acknowledgment from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, Region 9 (EPA) that it has received the letter from the Kletsel Dehe Wintun Nation pertaining to the Kletsel Environmental Regulatory Authority’s (KERA) review of the Site-Specific Flexibility Requests (SSFRs) submitted by SCS Engineers (SCS) on behalf of the Company in August of 2022 for the project. EPA received copies of 5 revised SSFRs from SCS, on August 17, 2022 and a revised Alternate Point of Compliance (Water) SSFR on September 30, 2022.
With receipt of the Kletsel Dehe Nation’s letter, EPA has now begun its evaluation of the August 2022 revised SSFR submittal. EPA will continue to take KERA’s comments into consideration when reviewing the SSFR submittal package, pursuant to EPA’s “Site-Specific Flexibility Requests for Municipal Solid Waste Landfills in Indian Country” Draft Guidance.
The Company continues to look forward to working in collaboration with both KERA and EPA in bringing Cortina to fruition.
