Updated Cortina SSFR's submitted for approval

Earthworks Industries Inc. is pleased to report that SCS Engineers has completed, on behalf of Cortina Integrated Waste Management (CIWM), the Site Specific Flexibility Request (SSFR’s) technical documents required for the proposed integrated waste management project at Cortina.

On October 31, 2017, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) provided to CIWM, EPA’s regulatory critique of the pending SSFR applications. The EPA required that the SSFR’s be updated to incorporate EPA review comments received over the period 2008 through 2017, and then be re-submitted to the Wintun Environmental Protection Agency (WEPA), the Tribal environmental agency, for approval.

The above-referenced documents have been updated to incorporate all EPA comments and sent to WEPA.

Submission and approval of the SSFR documents is a key step in the federal and Tribal process and permits the process to proceed.
