Critical Minerals Recovery
Copper Recovery
Why copper
The metal of electrification
Copper is fundamental to modern economies. Electrification, grid modernization, data centre construction, transportation, renewable energy and advanced manufacturing all depend on reliable copper supply, and demand forecasts across these sectors continue to rise faster than new primary supply is being brought online.
At the same time, significant volumes of copper-bearing material reach end of life each year. Recovering that material domestically reduces reliance on offshore processing, shortens supply chains and returns valuable metal to Western and allied manufacturers.
- Electrification and electric vehicles
- Transmission, distribution and grid expansion
- Data centres and artificial intelligence infrastructure
- Renewable energy generation and storage
- Transportation and rail
- Construction and infrastructure renewal
- Advanced and defense manufacturing
Our plans
Recovering copper from above-ground material
Earthworks is advancing plans to recover copper from suitable end-of-life and industrial material streams. Consistent with the Company’s modular development philosophy, copper recovery is expected to begin at pilot or smaller commercial scale and expand progressively as feedstock supply, technical performance, partnerships and economics are validated.
Get involved
Do you generate or source copper-bearing material?
Earthworks is building a network of material generators, recyclers, dismantlers, aggregators, industrial operators and sourcing partners across North America.
Feedstock Network
Earthworks Critical Minerals Feedstock Network
Connecting end-of-life materials with the infrastructure needed to recover critical minerals for Western supply chains.
