Cortina Update

Earthworks Industries Inc. (“Company”) wishes to report on the status of the development of its integrated waste handling project at the Cortina Rancheria in Colusa County, California. The project is being developed by the Company’s wholly owned U.S. subsidiary, Cortina Integrated Waste Management Inc.

The Company confirms that it has received a copy of the Kletsel Environmental Regulatory Authority’s (KERA) review of the Site-Specific Flexibility Requests (SSFRs) submitted by SCS Engineers on behalf of the Company in August of 2022 for the project. The SSFRs and KERA’s review and comments are now being reviewed by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) for approval.

SCS has received a copy of KERA’s review comments and will be preparing a response to KERA and EPA to address the technical aspects and any additional requirements.

The Kletsel Dehe Wintun Nation Tribal Council previously approved the Alternative Daily Cover SSFR for submission to EPA and approved the Seismic Stability/Landslide SSFR. Those SSFR’s have been forwarded again, along with three additional SSFRs. The Nation is also approving the Alternative Liner Demonstration subject to comments contained in the review. The Nation, through KERA, has requested clarification of certain technical aspects of the two other SSFRs.
